Cumberland County deputies responded to Millstone Mountain Road at Millstone Crate Road last Friday for a bloodied male found on the side of the road. The report released today says officers arrived to see medics placing 59-year-old Mark D. Williford of Harriman on a gurney with blood on his hands and face and wearing no shoes in near freezing weather. Officers say Williford drove down a logging road 75 yards before the vehicle became stuck. Williford was transported to the Rockwood Airport where an air medical helicopter took him to an area trauma center for treatment of hypothermia.
