INCIDENT REPORT SHEDS NO LIGHT ON MOTIVE OF DOUBLE SHOOTING IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

105.7 News obtained an incident report released today of a shooting that left two injured last week.

The report indicates deputies were called to 212 Wilbanks Road off of Highway 70 North (across from the flea market) the evening of February 11, 2020 in reference to two males being shot. Dispatch told the deputy the alleged shooter was going to be in a blue car and was still at the scene.

Upon the first deputies arrival, the officer observed a blue Volkswagen SUV parked off the roadway with two subjects inside of it and five people sitting on the ground in front of the vehicle. The deputy also observed a Caucasian male subject standing in the driveway of the residence. The officer got out of his patrol unit and ordered everyone’s hands in the air, and they all complied.

By this time, other officers arrived on the scene and started to detain the subjects at the scene. The male subject standing in the driveway told a deputy he took a gun away from the alleged shooter and it was on the ground on the driveway behind him. The deputy retrieved a silver and black Taurus 9mm handgun and secured it in the patrol car. The officer then placed a yellow marker where he found the firearm to signify where it was located.

Once the scene was secure, ambulances came to the scene to transport 35-year-old Joshua Houston and 37-year-old Marvin Joe Randolph, both of Crossville, to Cumberland Medical Center and later to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Picard of Crossville at the scene on two counts of aggravated assault. Picard is scheduled to make his first appearance on the charges in Cumberland County General Sessions Court March 16, 2020.

What is still unclear at this time is a motive for the shooting. The incident report did not give a motive for the two men being shot but could be revealed at a later time as the case remains under investigation.
