A suspect is in custody after an incident involving a gun was reported in Blount County Wednesday. Witnesses said that a man, who was not identified, fired a gun twice into the air in the front yard of a home near Rockford Elementary School. A deputy in the area discovered the man with the gun, who then fled the scene. He was then spotted about a quarter mile from the home, however this time he had no weapon. He was taken into custody and deputies said that he seemed to be drunk or under the influence of a drug. He was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital. A suicide note was found in his pocket.
