CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE JOINS “SAFE” CAMPAIGN
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their job of making roadways safer for motorists and passengers. Along with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, Cumberland County will join in the annual “Seatbelts Are for Everyone” campaign. The statewide initiative is designed to increase seat belt usage, along with the use of child-restraint seats through the implementation of special programs, public events and checkpoints. The SAFE campaign runs from Feb. 1st through Aug. 1st. This is the 4th year that the THSO has sponsored SAFE. Last year yielded the following results: 1,717 child restraint violations, 21,562 seat belt citations and 723 other seat belt enforcement activities.
