BURNING BAN STILL IN-EFFECT UNTIL RAIN COMES
Regional firefighters along with state Forestry Division crews continued to fight wildfires and brushfires all weekend long. Reports of people burning leaves and trash and losing control of such fires continue to come into Dispatch. Emergency personnel have been strained beyond limits due to residents not heeding recommendations. Thousands of acres have been consumed across the state due to such brush fires. Once again, you are not to conduct any type of outside burning during this time of dry weather and drought. You may think you have a controlled burn but there is no such thing with these type of weather conditions. No burn permits are being issued at this time either. When there has been sufficient rainfall to help moisturize the parched land, then permits will again be issued.
