Event Details

Roane State Community College will host its annual Academic Festival on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the flagship Roane County Campus. This longstanding event, which began in 1978 to promote the arts and sciences, will feature more than 60 events showcasing the knowledge, skills, and talents of local high school students across a wide range of disciplines. Competitive categories include art, business, creative writing, dance, health science, history, journalism, languages, math and physics, music, philosophy, science, speech, and theatre. The festival offers a combination of in-person competitions and early submission categories, with early submissions due by March 11 for pre-festival judging and scoring; students still have time to register and participate. On the day of the event, participants will check in on campus between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. ET. The festival kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the Raider Core Scavenger Hunt and other non-competitive activities, followed by the start of competitions at 9:15 a.m. in various locations across campus. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin around 12:15 p.m. ET in the gym, after which the festival will conclude. For more details, registration information, or to enter an event, visit roanestate.edu/af. Once available, information about the 2027 festival will also be posted on the same website.
