CALEB REINFORD FACES FELONY CHARGES IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY COURT AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE WITH HEADLIGHTS OFF

A Crossville man is scheduled to appear in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court on October 19, 2026, to face multiple charges following a high-speed pursuit that ended in a residential neighborhood earlier last month.
According to court documents and the affidavit filed by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Devyne Templeton, the incident unfolded on the evening of September 8, 2026. At approximately 7:24 PM, the deputy attempted to pull over a white truck traveling at 88 mph in a 55 mph zone on Taylors Chapel.
When the deputy activated emergency equipment and turned around to initiate the stop, the vehicle allegedly accelerated rapidly, prompting a pursuit. The chase continued to the entrance of Scarlet Drive, where the driver reportedly sped up again and switched off the vehicle’s headlights in an attempt to elude law enforcement through a residential area.
The vehicle eventually stopped at 648 Scarlet Drive, where deputies conducted a felony stop, secured the vehicle, and took the driver—identified as Caleb Lavern Reinford—into custody.
Reinford faces the following charges with a combined total bond of $27,500:
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment (Vehicle) – Bond: $15,000
  • Evading Arrest – Bond: $10,000
  • Reckless Driving – Bond: $2,500
