CCHS JETS CHEERLEADERS TO COMPETE FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Cumberland County Board of Education gave unanimous permission last night to the Cumberland County High School cheerleaders to attend the National High School Cheerleading Championship. The event will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
The National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. It is nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.
The cheer boosters and public donations will pay all expenses for the trip. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the CCHS cheerleaders for their trip can contact Cumberland County High School at (931) 484-6194.
The squad will leave CCHS on a charter bus the night of February 5 and return to Crossville the night of February 10, 2020. The competition will be from February 7 until the 9th. There will be 19 cheerleaders, one board of education employee and two volunteer coaches on this trip.
The CCHS cheerleading squad placed third at the event last year.
