After the survey was reviewed, school members questioned why only 717 took the survey out of 1,100. One reason was attributed to many employees were afraid to take it because they were in fear of retaliation. Another reason was the ones that did not take it did not trust the confidentiality of the survey.

The Cumberland County Board of Education last month chose not to offer current Director of Schools Janet Graham a new contract. Her contract will expire June 30, 2020. The school board is now in the process of searching for her replacement.
