CHILDREN PLAYING IN A ROAD LEADS TO MAN’S ARREST

Crossville police responded to the 600th block of Genesis Road just before 7 last night (Thursday, August 24, 2017) for children playing in the road. According to the incident report, officers arrived to see children standing in and on opposite sides of the roadway. Once officers got the 10-year-old and the 7-year-old off the road and in a safe place, police asked who was watching them. Authorities say 28-year-old Adam Thomas Choat said he was but police allegedly observed an odor of an intoxicant coming from him. Choat was arrested and charged with child endangerment and public intoxication. The children’s mother arrived at the residence from work at the time officers were there to care for the children. Crossville police referred the case to the Department of Children’s Services.
