CITY COUNCIL ADJUSTS FUNDING FOR NEW FIRE STATION

The Rockwood City Council met last night and adjusted the funds to be spent on a new fire station to be built on North Kingston Avenue. The location is just north of the Methodist church where a former electric substation was located. The city purchased the property from TVA last year and will begin construction of the new station in the next few weeks if all goes as planned. The station will replace the one on South Kingston Avenue built the 1960’s after it was deemed unfit following a mold and mildew issue. The property where station 2 now sits will more than likely be sold in the future.
