CITY COUNCIL HOLDS OFF ON FUNDING A FULL TIME DISPATCHER FOR E-911

The Crossville City Council voted unanimously last night to wait 30 to 45 days before making a decision regarding funding a full time dispatcher for the E-911 Center. The county commission recently said they would fund two if the city chipped in for one. The E-911 center is currently understaffed and the number of calls so far speak volumes. For this year to date, nearly 60,000 calls have come in to the center. That is up 5,000 for this time last year. The reasons placed for the delay was to do more research on the request for an additional dispatcher.
