CITY OF ROCKWOOD MANAGES TO TRIM $100,000 FROM ORIGINAL COST OF NEW FIRE TRUCK

Rockwood City officials have successfully cut $100,000 from the estimated cost of the fire department’s new combination ladder/pumper vehicle. The price of the truck now stands in the neighborhood of $800,000… which Rockwood City Councilman Dudley Evans believes is still a pretty pricey neighborhood. He had been none too delighted with the original $900,000 price tag, and Evans has said he’d like to see that new number brought down still further. “I would like to see another $100,000 off this fire truck,” he said.

The Rockwood Fire Department encompasses 18 members and provides fire and basic EMS service to the City of Rockwood. The department’s equipment inventory presently includes one engine, one 100-foot platform truck, one utility truck and one ambulance.
