Claris Claudine Carter Guy age 90 entered in eternal rest on September 17, 2016. She was born in Livingston Tennessee on December 13, 1925. She was the seventh of nine children born to the late Joe Tom & Tilda Walker Carter. Mrs. Guy was a homemaker. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized into membership as a young woman at Baker’s Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church in Crossville, which was near her family home. On March 15, 1952 in she married Lucius H. “Sub” Guy and they moved to Sparta, TN and were married for 42 years until his death in 1994. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Clarence Carter and Vergil Carter; sisters Lilly Ables, Addie Carrol, Violet Smith, Dorothy Adams, Ruby Beaty; infant brother Clayton Carter.

She and Sub enjoyed two children, son, Tommy Guy, a daughter, Janice Nadine (Danny) Cole. She was blessed with one granddaughter, Ginny Cole. Also surviving, two step-grandchildren, Amy and Andy (Heather) Cole and their children.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Harrold Parrigin will officiate.

Pallbearers will be nephews David Beaty, Bobby Smith, Dale Peterson, Randy Peterson, Mitchell Carter, Paul Adams, Larry Ables, Max Guy and Meldon Dodson.
