CONSTRUCTION ON RHEA COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER ADDITIONS BEGIN NEXT WEEK
From the Rhea County Animal Shelter:
It’s finally happening — we’re breaking ground on our long-awaited animal shelter expansion!
Thanks to a generous legacy gift from the late Mrs. Betty Plummer, and the incredible support of our community, we’re more than doubling our current space with a brand-new 5,000 sq. ft. facility! This expansion means more room for animals in need.
Please note: For safety reasons, the shelter will be CLOSED to the public April 7–11 while excavation takes place. Our team will still be caring for animals behind the scenes and available by phone and email for urgent needs.
This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to share every step with you. Stay tuned for updates — and thank you for believing in second chances.
