What a year it has been for Crab Orchard Elementary School. Last year, the school’s literacy score was a one on a scale of one to five. Staff and students were determined to show the county and the state that they could rise to the top. They did just that. In a report recently released by the state, the school is now a level 5. Principal Debbie Beaty said the honor is credited to the hard work of all the students and staff there, along with the great support from parents of the students.
