CRAWFORD WOMAN ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION IN CROSSVILLE
On Friday, Deputy J. Coley received a call regarding an unknown suspicious female on the front porch of a home in the area of Tabor Loop. Coley made contact with the female as she was stumbling between the roadway and the side of the road.
The female was later identified as Robin Smith and fled away from Deputy Coley as he was trying to question her, attempting to gain access to her handbag. She was detained and further interviewed. During the interview, Smith was highly incoherent when attempting to answer questions, unable to accurately answer where she currently was, where she had been going, and various other questions.
She denied having some sort of medical episode that required EMS as well as denied having taken illicit narcotics.
Due to Smith’s apparent state of mind, the fact that walking in the roadway she was putting herself at serious risk of injury, and behavior that suggested being under the influence of mind-altering substances, Smith was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to CCSO jail for processing.
