TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN FENTANYL BUST
On Friday last week, at approximately 7:40 pm, while patrolling the area of Clint Lowe Rd. Deputy Caleb Charles observed a Gold Honda cross the center line of the road a total of four times. Charles conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Sebastian Williams.
The Deputy ordered him out of the vehicle and frisked him for weapons, however, Williams denied consent to search and said he wanted his phone from the vehicle and approached Deputy Charles multiple times while ignoring commands to step back.
While looking through the passenger window of the vehicle, Deputy Charles observed a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance partially out of a wallet in the passenger seat of the vehicle in plain view.
Williams ignored orders to place his hands behind his back multiple times and then tried to run back to his vehicle. Deputy Charles grabbed hold of him and attempted to apprehend and cuff him, but was elbowed in the chest and upper shoulder.
Williams dove into the driver’s side of the vehicle headfirst reaching for something in the floor or seat of the vehicle. The deputy broke contact, stepped back, and drew his gun, giving Williams commands to show his hands and get on the ground.
However, Williams refused commands even further, prompting Deputy Charles to draw his taser. Williams went to his knees and attempted to shove two plastic bags of Fentanyl into the leaves.
Williams was placed into cuffs and placed into the back of the deputy’s car while Charles recovered the narcotics he attempted to hide, and searched the vehicle.
Another plastic bag containing Fentanyl was found inside.
Williams was transported to CCSO intake for booking and charged with Man/Del/Sell of Fentanyl, Tampering with Evidence, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a First Responder.
