CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL SETTLES ON PRICE OF INDUSTRIAL SITE PROPERTY

The Crossville City Council has settled on an advertised price for a piece of land at its’ Interchange Industrial Park. The property earmarked for advertising includes land on which the city and Cumberland County paid $250,000 each to match one-half of a state land development grant that would prep the site for a possible business sale in the future. The council unanimously approved the property to sell for $75,000 per acre. Council Member Scot Shanks inquired as to whether or not the county should be in on the decision about the cost and was told that the property is primarily owned by the city and that the city is footing the incentives for the business. City Manager Greg Woods and City Mayor James Mayberry added that in time, everyone, including the state and county, would be included in the deal.
