CROSSVILLE INVESTIGATOR LOOKING INTO MISSING PERSON COLD CASE

The Crossville Police Department is looking into a missing person cold case. The daughter of Tommy Terry Brummer contacted an investigator a couple of weeks ago. She said her family believes Brummer could possibly be a murder victim from nearly 40 years ago in Cumberland County.

In August 1983 the body of a young African American male was found with multiple stab wounds and no identification in the Pleasant Hill area. At the time, Chief Deputy David Burgess worked the incident. Burgess recently told the investigator he believed the victim was no more than 23 years of age. Brummer would have been 30 at the time of the murder. The medical examiner’s office in Knoxville informed the investigator the unidentified male was even possibly younger being in his late teens at the time of death.

Upon further research, the officer found a Tommy Terry Brummer who renewed his driver’s license in 2015. The investigator is still waiting on a couple of other sources to either confirm or deny evidence of Brummer’s disappearance. However at this time it does not appear the young man found deceased in Pleasant Hill back in the 1980’s is Brummer.
