CROSSVILLE MAN CITED AFTER CRASHING TRUCK INTO FENCE THEN DRINKING AT HOME
On May 23, 2026, at approximately 7:29 PM, Officer Amy Sherrill responded to a hit-and-run crash at Farmington Ln. in Crossville. Witnesses reported that a late 1970s model blue Ford pickup truck with chrome rims, lowered to the ground, had struck a fence on Deerfield Rd. before fleeing through a neighbor’s yard. Security camera footage showed the truck driving through the neighbor’s yard and returning to the roadway around 7:19 PM. The owner of the damaged fence estimated repair costs between $2,400 and $4,800.
Investigating officers located a matching blue Ford pickup in the driveway of Joshua Martin on Dewey Dr. When questioned, Martin’s girlfriend confirmed it was the same truck. Martin admitted to crashing into the fence after spinning out on the curve but stated he had left the scene and gone home, where he then consumed alcohol.
Officers observed that Martin appeared intoxicated at the time of contact, with red, watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. He denied being intoxicated while driving.
Martin was issued misdemeanor citations for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Vandalism. The case was cleared.
