The following is a statement from Jennifer Thompson regarding the Crossville Police Department and Crossville Fire Department assisting to celebrating her son, 5-year-old Virgil Thompson’s birthday:

“I simply cannot express enough appreciation to you and your team for making Virgil’s 5th birthday so special. After the loss of his dad earlier this year, my heart was heavy that he couldn’t have a birthday party. Because of your team’s thoughtfulness, he not only had a successful birthday but one that will go down in history for us and others as “remember when” this happened in the midst of such a time when social distancing and his dad being gone had us feeling down. I feel this was simply Heaven sent!”

The Crossville Police Department says in these uncertain times, it’s an honor to help make a day special for even one member of the community. The Crossville Police Department would like to thank young Virgil for allowing them to share in his 5th birthday celebration.
