CROSSVILLE POLICE RECEIVES WALMART COMMUNITY GRANTS

The Crossville Police Department has partnered with the Walmart Foundation, which has made it their mission to give more people access to a better life, one individual, family, and community at a time. This year, the City of Crossville Police Department received grants from the Walmart Foundation totaling $3000, in relation to their Community Grant Program, in the area of Public Safety: Supporting public safety programs through training programs or equipment in the United States. The Walmart Foundation’s Community Grant Program awards grants of $250 to $5,000 through Walmart stores, Sam’s Clubs and Logistics facilities. Eligible nonprofit organizations must operate within the service area of the facility from which they are requesting funding.

The grants we have received from the Walmart Foundation will allow us to present training to our officers and the community,” said Crossville Police Chief David Beaty. “The grants will also allow us to purchase equipment that will help us help our community. This is a great program and we really appreciate the recognition of our officer’s efforts and thank Walmart for their support.”

Today during the grand opening of Crossville Walmart Supercenter’s new E-Commerce Center, store manager Charlie Richards was presented with a plaque in recognition of his store’s contribution to the Crossville Police Department, by Crossville Police Lieutenant Brian Eckelson.
