CROSSVILLE WOMAN ALLEGEDLY STEALS MILITARY VEHICLE

A Cumberland County woman has been charged after allegedly stealing a military owned vehicle. Crossville police responded to the Marine recruiting office on North Main Street early yesterday evening (July 4, 2017) where they learned that 40-year-old Augusta Glass allegedly took a work van parked there. The van was registered to the Department of the Navy. Police obtained a picture taken of Glass allegedly in the vehicle at the time it was taken. The vehicle was later spotted by a deputy at the 4100th block of Highway 127 North where according to the report, the driver was identified as Glass. She was charged with theft of property and the van was returned to the recruiting office.
