CROSSVILLE WOMAN TRIES EVADING POLICE IN REFRIGERATOR

A Crossville woman learned late Thursday night a refrigerator doesn’t necessarily make an ideal hiding place. Acting on a tip, Cumberland County deputies arrived at a home on the 200 block of Ed Houston Road, looking for 41-year-old Heather Tranberg on a violation of probation warrant. When they arrived at the home, the resident, 59-year-old Melanie Pugh repeatedly denied Tranberg was there.

Deputies searched the home and found Tranberg hiding in the refrigerator.

Pugh was arrested and charged with obstruction of a legal writ. She’s being held on $1,500 bond and has a January 7 court date. Tranberg is being held without bond pending a January 4 court appearance.

Needless to say, both women were hauled off… to the cooler.
