KENTUCKY WOMAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METH, PILLS
A Monticello, Kentucky, woman was arrested in Cumberland County late Wednesday night on drug charges.
During a routine traffic stop, deputies found 42-year-old Joy Marie Bartley to have bloodshot eyes; she was also making furtive movements with her hands toward the front passenger seat.
After initially denying having anything illegal in the vehicle, Bartley admitted “a small amount” of marijuana could be inside.
A consent search turned up no marijuana; however, deputies did discover Bartley hiding a small plastic bag of Oxycodone pills in her hand. Inside the vehicle, they also found several baggies containing meth, a glass pipe with burnt residue consistent with meth and four pills believed to be 1mg Alprazolam.
Total weight of the meth was approximately 1.8 grams.
Bartley was charged with felony manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth and two counts of simple possession. She was placed under $18,000 bond. Bartley has a court date of January 7, 2019.
