CUMBERLAND CO. COMMISSION PASSES BUDGET, NO PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Cumberland County Commission tonight approved the 2018-2019 fiscal year budget of $107.7 million. If the two major capital projects, construction of the new Crab Orchard School and renovations to Cumberland County High School, are added in the budget is $120.8 million. The budget calls for no property tax increase.
It also has the following included of interest:
- A 2 percent raise for part-time and full-time county employees
- new radios for emergency department
- tech items for the library
- computerization and modernization of the election office
- new patrol cars for the sheriff’s department
- three new ambulances
- a new fire truck
- upgrades to the jail
- a full-time employee for the animal shelter
- budget continues funding for student resource officers in county schools
