CUMBERLAND COUNTY FINANCE COMMITTEE APPROVES NEW EQUIPMENT PURCHASES
The Cumberland County Financial Management Committee has approved bids and purchases to assist EMS and First Responders in the performance of their duty. The committee recently approved the purchase of two new ambulances for EMS at a cost of $279,864. The newer models will replace two older ambulances that will be pulled out of service due to their age and mileage. The group also endorsed the purchase of 108 new portable radios to be used by emergency responders from AMK Services LLC of Anderson Indiana. Problems have arisen with the older radios due to dropout spots throughout the county. The purchase of the new radios will assure that all departments will be utilizing the same upgraded equipment.
