CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS INCREASED ENFORCEMENT FOR SUPERBOWL WEEKEND

Now that we know that the Atlanta Falcons will face off against the New England Patriots in Superbowl 51, don’t spoil the game by thinking of drinking and driving. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Dept. will have increased DUI enforcement on Superbowl Weekend, Feb. 4th and 5th. It’s a continuation of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office “Booze it & Lose it” campaign and is a statewide mobilization to prevent impaired driving crashes, injuries and fatalities. Sheriff Casey Cox says, “We can’t see this tragic loss of life again and again, and that zero tolerance will be shown for drunk drivers on the road.” State Officials say that there were 76 crashes and eight fatalities across Tennessee during last year’s Superbowl Weekend.
