The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office released today the date for its annual Trunk or Treat.

It will be held at the Justice Center on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Officials say if there is still a line of trick-or-treaters present at 7 p.m., the event will continue.

This year’s event promises to be the biggest the sheriff’s office has held.

Around 25 different scenes will be featured for kids to walk by inside the Justice Center to get candy in a safe environment. The scenes include the Wizard of Oz, the Adams Family, Harry Potter, Scooby Doo and many more.

The sheriff’s office says $1,500 is in the budget to purchase candy for the trunk or treat. Even more candy comes in from donations.

“It’s going to be a great event! We are very happy to provide a safe atmosphere for the kids and adults to come to and have fun,” said Sheriff Casey Cox. “Everyone is invited to attend.”

If you wish to donate unopened bags of candy, you can drop it off at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, located at 90 Justice Center Drive in Crossville.
