DEPUTIES: CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER ATTACKING INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED BROTHER
A Crossville man is facing charges after reportedly attacking his brother who has an intellectual disability. Cumberland County deputies say 34-year-old Dustin Lynn Bryant went to a home on Howard Lane and tried to choke his brother. A family member told deputies Bryant appeared to be “high on drugs” and became mad over a phone charger. Bryant reportedly busted a flashlight then started to beat his brother,. Officers noted in the report injuries to the victim consistent of being struck several times. Bryant fled the scene before officers arrived. He was later taken into custody after a tip led officers to a home on White Hall Road in Crab Orchard where Bryant was found hiding in a bedroom closet. He was arrested for aggravated domestic assault and willful abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable individual. He was taken to the Cumberland County jail and initially placed under $25,000 bond.
