DOMESTIC ISSUE LEADS DEPUTIES TO DISCOVER MULTIPLE FIREARMS

On Wednesday Deputy Ethan Wilson of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Dixon Road area in response to a possible domestic issue involving a discharged firearm. Upon arriving, Wilson spoke to a female homeowner who said her son, David Hall, pulled into her driveway and quickly turned around in her yard, but not before hearing a loud pop as if from a gun.

She went outside and found a spent 9 MM round in her driveway, which was found by Deputy Wilson and collected for evidence.

The homeowner said her son had not been taking his medication and was getting gradually worse and more aggressive. After asking the homeowner to provide a written statement of the incident, and getting information on the suspect’s place of residence, Wilson drove to the Orange Circle area with Deputy Coley and Lieutenant South of the Crossville PD.

After making contact with Hall, Wilson ordered him to the ground and detained him in handcuffs. Hall said he went over to his mother’s to “harm someone” and instead of harming her, he attempted to shoot a cat that was outside to scare his mother. Hall mentioned his gun was in his bedroom.

Investigating the house, deputies found a loaded Ruger 9 MM lying on Hall’s bed along with 9 other firearms in the bedroom. The guns were released to Hall’s father and Hall was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. He is currently being held on $50,000 bond.
