Douglas Holt, age 88, of Knoxville, formerly of Crossville, Tennessee passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018. He has resided in Crossville for the last eight years. Doug was a Chief Petty Officer US Navy during World War II, 3rd degree Mason with the South Knoxville Masonic Lodge #769 F&AM and was a deacon and member of the Arrowhead Methodist Church for an extended period of time. He retired from and was a loyal employee at the Knoxville News Sentinel for over 34 years. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 70 years: Deloris McNabb Holt; children: Claudia Jones, Cynthia Holt, Carla Bistrick, and Douglas Holt; grandchildren: Keiresten Jonesler, Kevin Jones, Sharah Tew, Burt Scaffe, Courtney Holt, and Tiffany Kittrell; and 8 wonderful great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from noon until 2 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville with a short service at 2 p.m. with a procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside service.
