DRAG RACER KILLED AT PUTNAM COUNTY DRAGWAY

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that took place on a dragway. Troopers responded to Buffalo Valley Dragway in Putnam County Friday night (August 11, 2017) where 45-year-old Windle Webster Jr. of Lebanon had finished his run when his vehicle failed to stop. Officers say the vehicle went off the left side of the track and hit a tree. Webster was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers says the vehicle was equipped with safety features are investigating to determine if the accident was from an equipment problem or a medical condition.
