ELEPHANTS WAIT AS FIREFIGHTERS PUT OUT TRACTOR-TRAILER FIRE

Elephants were waiting for Chattanooga firefighters when they arrived to a vehicle fire on I-24 near the Georgia state line this morning (Monday, November 20, 2017). Yes, you read that first sentence right. Officers say a tractor-trailer carrying three African elephants caught fire about 2 a.m. this morning. According to authorities the tractor was on fire, but the trailer was not. The owners got the elephants safely out of the trailer and gave them some hay to munch on while firefighters put the fire out. With the fire out, the owners made some calls to get another tractor to their location. A few hours later, the elephants were safely loaded on another tractor-trailer to continue their journey to Sarasota, Florida.
