Eric Alvin Steward, age 39, of Crossville, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at his home. He was born March 16, 1979, to Alvin and Linda Steward of Cookeville. In addition to his mother, he is survived by son: Taylor Steward of Crossville; stepson: Tucker Griffin of Crossville; family: Natalie Griffin (Bobby and Tripp); and a host of aunts, uncles, and special cousins who loved him and will miss him.

Eric was a fearless fighter from birth; a miracle to say the least. He was a force, a light that shone so brightly you couldn’t help but notice him. He always had a contagious smile and had never met a stranger. With the nickname Gumby, you were sure to get a laugh from him and his clumsiness. He was well known in the community for his work. From working at the Hospital Lab, to State Beauty, and recently Amedisys Health, he touched so many lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Eric does not want us to mourn, he wants us to celebrate!

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 21, at 2 p.m., at Trinity Assembly in Algood.
