In a post from Putnam County Sheriff’s Office yesterday (May 21):

At approximately 5:20 pm today, Gladys Marie Melton turned herself back into the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Melton had received a ride to the United Church of Cookeville at which time the staff encouraged her to turn herself back in to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The PCSO is investigating how Melton was able to walk off from CRMC along with any assistance she may have received in order to do so. As always, thank you for the public’s assistance in this matter.
