A Harriman woman is facing charges after a disturbing incident last Saturday. The report states 31-year-old Jessica Marie Fairres admitted to hitting a 7-month old baby in the face and threw the baby into a play pen. The child was taken to Roane Medical Center to be seen by a doctor and the Department of Children’s Services was called to the hospital. DCS officials later placed the baby with another family. Fairres was arrested for child abuse, taken to the Roane County jail and initially placed under $15,000 bond.
