FISHERMAN’S BODY RECOVERED FROM FT. LOUDOUN LAKE
Rescue divers recovered the body of a 40-year-old Caucasian male from Louisville yesterday out of Ft. Loudoun Lake after a fisherman found an unoccupied boat near Carl Cowan Park.
The boat contained food, fishing gear and still had keys in the ignition when it was located. The fisherman who discovered the unoccupied boat notified authorities prompting a search.
A TWRA accident investigator located the man’s body by use of an underwater remote operated vehicle at 6:48 pm in 36 feet of water which was recovered within an hour. The victim was not wearing a personal flotation device and early indications are that he drowned. An autopsy has been requested. The victim’s identity was not initially released.
