FIVE CANDIDATES EXPRESS INTEREST IN VACANT CUMBERLAND CO. COMMISSION SEAT
Five candidates have expressed interest in serving on a Cumberland County Commission seat vacated. The 9th district county seat opened after now former county commissioner Carl MacLeod resigned for a move out of state. To be considered for the position, the candidates must reside in the 9th district which is Fairfield Glade.
The five to be considered are:
Larry Brilliant
Nico CearGeo
Carmin Lynch (former Cumberland County commissioner)
Colleen Mall
Mark Rosser
The five are scheduled to appear in front of the Cumberland County Commission at their meeting January 21, 2020 to each address the commission on why they wish to serve. Anyone else living in the 9th district can attend the meeting and offer their name for consideration.
The candidate that gets the most votes from the county commission will then be sworn in and join the commission for the remainder of the meeting. They will serve until August 2020 when the general election is held. The one that wins the election for 9th district county commissioner will serve the remainder of MacLeod’s seat that ends in 2022.
