Former Roane County Sheriff David B. Haggard has passed away. He became a deputy on January 15, 1976 and as sheriff from 1993 until 2006. Officials say Haggard was an exceptional officer, administrator, and friend. The flag at the Roane County Sheriff’s Department will fly at half-mast to honor and mourn the loss of Haggard who served with dignity and honor. Funeral announcements will be released soon.
