A recently completed walking trail in Cumberland County is slated to open soon. 1057 News spoke this morning with John Conrad, president of Friends of the Trails, who noted the trail at Charleston Plantation that follows along the Little Obed River is expected to open to the public on the 18^th of August. Meanwhile, Conrad said he plans to attend an August 7 City Council work session to seek the city’s permission to build yet another trail. “We’re in the fortunate position to have enough money and enough volunteers,” he said. The nonprofit Friends of the Trails still has to work out a few details regarding siting for the next venture.
