GEORGIA BULLDOGS SOUNDLY DEFEATS THE VOLS AT NEYLAND STADIUM

It was the worst defeat the Tennessee Vols football team took in a very long time. The Vols were shutout for the first time in 23 years as 7th ranked Georgia steamrolled its way to a 41-0 win at Neyland Stadium Saturday (September 30, 2017). Tennessee quarterback Quinten Dormady threw an interception on the Vols’ first offensive play and it all went down from there. Dormady went into halftime with 11 passing yards on 3 completions out of 12 attempts to go with two interceptions. Dormady would start the second half before Jarrett Guarantano replaced him with Tennessee trailing 31-0 in the third quarter. Trevor Daniel, who totaled 391 total punting yards on eight punts last week against UMass, stayed busy against the Bulldogs. Daniel punted seven times for 320 yards, averaging 46 yards per punt. While Georgia punted the ball away five times of their own, Georgia finished 5-5 scoring in the red zone. True freshman quarterback Jake Fromm rushed for two touchdowns to go with another score through the air. Nick Chubb rushed for 109 yards on 16 carries for the Bulldogs.
