An individual from Crab Orchard is facing charges after apparently attacking a woman 6 to 8 weeks pregnant with twins. Cumberland County deputies responded to a home on Webb Lane where they found the victim on the floor holding her stomach. A verbal altercation escalated when 46-year-old Michael Andrew Hamby grabbed the woman by her throat choking her. Hamby then allegedly hit her in the face and kicked her in the stomach. Hamby fled the scene and the victim was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of several injuries. Deputies later located Hamby and arrested him for aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault and two counts of violation of bond conditions.

Hamby was arrested back in August of this year in a similar incident at the same location. In that case, he supposedly choked a female and shoved a juvenile. During the investigation, officers learned that Hamby was a convicted felon and found several weapons. Hamby was charged then with unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of domestic assault.
