Already facing charges surrounding an incident at a Harriman church last summer, James Lombardo, 38, has now been charged with aggravated burglary for allegedly forcing his way into a local home earlier this month, according to police.

Harriman Police Officer Logan Vitatoe’s warrant states Lombardo “kicked in the door of [the home] and stole items.” The resident of the State Street home claimed Lombardo stole a cell phone, a house key and a box containing change and miscellaneous other items.

According to reports, Officer Vitatoe located Lombardo at his (Lombardo’s) home and arrested him. The arrest warrant states officers searched Lombardo’s pockets and recovered the cell phone. Then, upon entering the home, Officer Vitatoe reportedly located the “box of miscellaneous items” and a bag with the victim’s name written on it.

Lombardo was taken to the Roane County Jail, placed under $5,000 bond and is due in Roane County General Sessions Court May 22 on the charge of aggravated burglary.

In the case from last summer, Lombardo – who was indicted in February on aggravated criminal trespass, harassment, disrupting a meeting or procession and civil-rights intimidation charges – allegedly threatened to blow up Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Margrave Drive. Lombardo also reportedly spoke about white supremacy and made a Nazi salute.

Lombardo was arraigned on the church-related charges April 6; a hearing in that case is set for August 3.
