HARRIMAN LINK TO BRICEVILLE STORE BREAK-IN AND BATLEY VEHICLE FIRE

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in early Sunday morning at a store in Briceville.

Ginger King, owner of Ginger’s Deli on Briceville Highway, called deputies to the business around 1 p.m. Sunday after she found the drive-thru window broken and several items stolen. King told deputies she reviewed the security camera footage from the overnight hours and saw a man in a black SUV drive up to the front door, get out and walk around before getting back in and driving off. A few minutes later, the same SUV pulled up to the west side of the store, where the drive-thru window is located. He got in and stole the cash register, along with cigarettes and beer.

The suspect vehicle, a Buick Enclave that may have been stolen from Harriman, was later found burned in the Batley community last night.
