HARRIMAN POLICE TO SHOW MORE PRESENCE IN CRACKING DOWN ON SPEEDERS

Expect to see more of a police presence on the roadways in Harriman. Last night (Tuesday, June 6, 2017) during the Harriman City Council meeting, Police Chief Derek Pacifico in his monthly report to the council stated that since the city has seen an increase in traffic accidents the past month, his department will begin again to set up in high traffic volume areas to catch speeders. Pacifico said the action will hopefully reduce the accidents again around the city. Pacifico said traffic crashes were down when the motorists knew they would get a ticket if caught speeding. He noted that council representatives and the mayor had gotten complaints from citizens about to many tickets being written, but safety should come first.
