HIBACHI SUPER BUFFET RECEIVES FAILING HEALTH SCORE OF 67
Hibachi Super Buffet located at 1352 North Main Street in Crossville received a failing score from the Tennessee Department of Health during a food service establishment inspection last week. The score given to the establishment was 67, while anything below 70 is considered a failing grade.
Violations observed include:
- An employee drinking from an unapproved drink container at a food prep table near the hand sink.
- Heads of cauliflower and lettuce stored in the walk-in cooler are adulterated and discolored.
- Two pans of cooked crab meat and cooked chicken commingling with pans stacked on top of the items with no barrier between them stored in the walk-in cooler.
- Foam to-go containers stored with unwrapped and unprotected toxic green rodent bait.
- Raw chicken thawing at ambient room temperature near the back sink and raw shrimp falling into standing water.
- Powdered food items in plastic containers and sauces and spices not labeled.
- Roaches stuck on sticky strips in the dry storage area and around the dish machine.
- Roach carcasses were observed in the glass door cooler and on the floor of the walk-in cooler.
- Mouse droppings were observed on the floor under shelving in the dry storage area.
- Numerous containers of food are stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler and freezer.
- Numerous items lacking handles were being used as scoops and submerged in food products.
- The walk-in freezer door has a torn gasket.
- Plastic grocery bags used as food containers in the reach-in cooler.
- And food debris/splatter in the interior of the microwave.
