HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DETAINED FOR QUESTIONING ABOUT EXPLOSIONS

A student at Oak Ridge High School was detained today for questioning about recent explosions in Oak Ridge. The Knoxville Police Department’s bomb squad helped officers search a vehicle in the school’s parking lot. Police believe the student is connected to two possible explosions that occurred within three days. Officers found a concrete picnic table near Blankenship Field that appeared to be damaged by some sort of explosion. Two days later, a small crater and evidence were found near Milt Dickens Park.
