HIGH-SPEED CHASE IN CLARKRANGE RESULTS IN INJURY OF TWO OFFICERS
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was requested to provide mutual aid to Fentress County last night.
Sheriff Casey Cox told 3B Media News this morning it started as a domestic situation leading to a vehicle pursuit near a park in Clarkrange.
Two Fentress County officers were injured in the incident.
The suspect, 27-year-old Joshua C. Roberts, crashed his automobile off Martha Washington Road. He ran into a nearby wooded area.
After hearing the name and description of the suspect put out by dispatch to law enforcement, Sheriff Cox had knowledge of Roberts. Cox obtained a phone number for Roberts and called him. Cox convinced Roberts to surrender and meet him at a store at the corner of Highway 127 and Martha Washington Road early this morning.
Sheriff Cox took Roberts into custody without incident.
Roberts was transported to the Fentress County Jail where he faces several charges.
Roberts was processed into the jail around 3 a.m. today.
The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office will release more information at a later time.
